The Minotaur, like all monstrous beings in mythology, represents the mental weaknesses, defects, phobias, which dissolve when they come to the light of the Sun. The killing of the Minotaur is a symbolic process through which man can emerge victorious from the dark world of the unexplored “maze of the brain”. The Labyrinth is the unknown aspects of our brain, the Minotaur the subconscious, the passions, phobias, addictions that can fix us. Theseus, coming out victorious from the dark labyrinth, conquered the kingdom of his higher nature. We can all come out winners.
